Spotters

Le spotting, qui constitue une activitĂ© Ă  la motivation mystĂ©rieuse, rĂ©uni aussi bien ceux qui comptabilisent les passages de trains ou les dĂ©collages d’avion, que ceux qui, engageant des programmes d’envergure planĂ©taire, tentent d’identifier des signes d’intelligence extraterrestre dans les signaux en provenance de l’espace (SETI). Traquer dans la rĂ©currence ou dans les infimes variations des signes du quotidien ou de l’espace ce qui nous permettrait de mieux comprendre le monde, l’univers ou la logique de la SNCF relĂšve d’une obstination qui ne cesse de nous Ă©merveiller.
Que l’objectif soit de dĂ©couvrir une explication, la confirmation d’un doute ou d’une certitude, ou l’évidence d’un complot, il y a dans la compulsion « spottique » quelque chose qui relĂšve du questionnement mĂ©taphysique. La sĂ©rie des Spotters, inspirĂ©e du projet Red Light Spotters, vise Ă  gĂ©nĂ©raliser le principe d’Observation SystĂ©matique ObstinĂ©e (OSO, – – – ∙ ∙ ∙ – – –) appliquĂ© au monde construit par l’homme, en le couplant Ă  la tentative, dĂ©sespĂ©rĂ©e, de traduire l’information rĂ©sultante sous forme de son, de lumiĂšre, de vibration
 susceptibles d’apporter des Ă©lĂ©ments d’intelligibilitĂ© dans la masse des artefacts et des comportements humains.

Most of the sensible minds have understood, since now long, that there is no reason to produce significant artwork nor explore virgin territories. It is a fundamental fact: it has to « be like contemporary art » as reminded us utterly relevantly the Pompidou’s curator. One never measures the reach of this consideration. Recognition is the basis for environment espousal; therefore it goes through the production of indications, minimum of the respect of implicit norm. No use, in this case, to be surprised by the rejection that does not increase amongst rational but amongst the necessity of protecting all or part of the rules that define the instituted frame in which art can move in peace.
Then, one has to identify the bound properties of these contemporaneous external signs, these that immediately show to a critic, a curator or a collector they are in known ground, with just enough thrill to foresee a possible danger, maybe true, but that could not reach the body or mind of the one who feels it.
Between these legitimizing attributes, certain characteristics constitute permanent forms that lead them to lasting relevance.

Otherwise, the use of flavor in agribusiness that comfort the consumer, making him sure he is eating genuine strawberry freshly picked, tasting land, assuming the biological cultured tag, is also of this order.

The project is to seek, for the equivalent artwork, to reach the essence of contemporary art.
Amongst the essential oils of contemporary art, I immediately put away the linseed oil fragrance
the turpentine is way too much linked to the fifty’s exhibitions to give this contemporary scent that wants to affect all lasting tradition. The smell of vinyl paint that defines the freshly done up white box is discrete and undeniably present in all the well off private views.

The “Contemporary Art” essential oil will have the possibility to be distributed in small sized bottles, ascetic design, in museum shops
or better, in the artist’s furniture shop.

l'Abbé Pierre triant les bouteilles

L’abbĂ© Pierre vient de mourir Ă  94 ans.
Eu Ă©gard Ă  l’action et Ă  l’image du personnage, faut-il :
Le canoniser ?
Collectionner ses reliques ?
Le cloner ?

Cette derniĂšre hypothĂšse, en une pĂ©riode oĂč il devient tendance en politique que de s’élever en faveur des sans abris, paraissant la plus stimulante la question devient :

Cloner l’abbĂ© Pierre, serait-ce :
Une Ɠuvre d’art ?
Un geste politique ?
Une performance scientifique ?
Un tĂ©moignage d’affection ?

Projet : parce que plus rĂ©aliste, je propose d’empailler l’abbĂ© Pierre. La dĂ©pense sera raisonnable et par lĂ  mĂȘme, plus en accord avec ses convictions, et ça permettra Ă  tout ceux que son message Ă  laissĂ© indiffĂ©rents de venir se recueillir sur sa dĂ©pouille sans avoir Ă  l’entendre. Cependant, le dispositif, baptisĂ© alors gĂ©nĂ©rateur automatique de culpabilitĂ©, inclura un enregistrement qui restituera en boucle les grands moments de ses discours.

L’Ă©cran est la fenĂȘtre ouverte sur un monde Ă  la temporalitĂ© Ă©lastique.
Vedute ( »vues ») est une sĂ©rie des piĂšces fondĂ©e sur la transparence altĂ©rĂ©e du mur qui supporte la fenĂȘtre.
D’un cĂŽtĂ© de la cloison : l’Ă©cran neutralisĂ©, une fenĂȘtre-image. De l’autre : une camera.
Sur l’Ă©cran on voit en transparence ce qui se passe de l’autre cĂŽtĂ© du mur, mais les strates temporelles s’additionnent et le prĂ©sent redevient un moment fantomatique de l’histoire du lieu qu’il altĂšre un temps. Il s’Ă©vanouit lentement mais construit l’image en devenir pour une fraction, certes infime, mais dĂ©finitivement Ă©crite dans la durĂ©e de l’image ou s’accumule l’histoire.

Since one can easily follow drifts of vision on image, one can imagine the deviant form of stereoscopy, supposed to make vision “solid”, building a perverse space, on the scale of those that confuse in pleasure effects where the relative distance grows with intensity of the look on the thing.
The more you interest me, the more you seem far.

The object of desire, more cense than coveted, without linear degradation – perspective reduction of the size – leaves away for the watcher, frowned upon observer of the scene. Here it is not transav (“Husum” effect, say the exegete movie goerings against their will) of joyful remembering, but the definitive bleary of deviant senses, of the unreachable unappeased.

Medias wish to build an image of the world further authentic than supernatural, reality shows bring a global vision to a single one, single and apparently common, of which the general vision an the media-related alchemy changes into extraordinary considerations.
Until the middle of the 19th century, the means of painting tended to transpose the extraordinary by conferring it a tangible substance.
When reversing this proposition, and considering the following, Back Frame, that is a small device integrating the cartel beneath certain painting, less or more important, in a museum; it is composed of a video camera and a transmission kite, such as WiFi.
Therefore, results a new artwork, in the homes
where a screen of the size of the museum paintings, receiving the image of the painting watchers and whom seem to be appreciating, your inside living. They even sometimes close up, to admire details (the cartel readers, in fact).
Each artwork item is titled:
Les Arnolfini, Back Frame
La Joconde, Back Frame
L’enlùvement des Sabines, Back Frame
La Femme qui pleure, Back Frame

If it is the artist who influes on the vision of the watcher, the final artwork should be signed of his name, and the conclusion would be that the eye of the watcher is formed by the artist himself.

Touristic Democrazy

Des lunettes d’observation du type de celles que l’on trouve sur les lieux touristiques pour observer le paysage. (Adaptation des lunettes de Cosmopolis : http://cosmopolis.info ?). Un peu comme celle que nous implanterons sur l’Arc de Triomphe à Paris.

A partir des donnĂ©es provenant des rĂ©seaux tĂ©lĂ©phoniques sans fil (variante GPS). Chacun dĂ©clare son numĂ©ro comme Ă©tant OUI ou NON. Selon sa localisation dans les cellules du rĂ©seau, un cercle correspondant semble recouvrir une partir du territoire correspondant observable depuis les lunettes. OUI en bleu et NON en rouge. On voit au long du jour les surfaces colorĂ©es augmenter et recouvrir progressivement le territoire. OUI et NON peuvent ĂȘtre remplacĂ©s par toute alternative binaire.
